In October 1616, 152 years prior to Captain James Cook, a Dutch Sea Captain Dirk Hartog,the first European landed at Cape Inscription in Shark Bay, the most Western point off the coast of Australia.
Shark Bay Marine Park's shallow waters and seagrass meadows teem with marine life, including Dugong and the famous wild bottle nose dolphins of Monkey Mia, who visit daily to interact with humans.
